First Township Hall Project

 April 6^th 1871

         Resolved by the township of Goodland that we build a Town Hall also that we appoint a committee of five electors to take consideration the cost, kind and proper location of said Hall. The following names persons were chosen such committee, James G. Erity, W. S. Abbott, H. M. Buchanan, W. H. Smith, Thos Hinds

April 4^th 1881 – At the annual Meeting held at the house of H. M. Buchanan.

         Resolution made and carried to raise three hundred dollars by taxation on the real and personal estate of the Township of Goodland for the purpose of Building a Town Hall, as follows, one hundred and fifty dollars in the year 1881, and one hundred and fifty dollars in the year 1882. Also motion made and carried to appoint a committee of three who duties it will be fix upon a location and superintend the building of said Hall, Wm. H. Smith, John Stephenson, Edgar S. Hough were appointed such committee.

April 16^th 1881 –SpecialTownship Meeting Called By Notice.

Met at the House of Wm. McRae in the Township of Goodland Lapeer Co, Mich, for the purpose of submitting to the Voter’s of the Township of Goodland the raising of Three hundred dollars to building a Town Hall. Number of votes cast was twenty one, twenty Yes and one No.

April 3^rd 1882 – Annual Meeting held at store of William Ketridge.

   Voted to put off the Raising of two hundred dollars of the 350.00 voted for Town Hall until the year A.D. 1883 Carried; Leaving 150.00 dollars to raise in 1882
